Human Resources Assistant

We are currently seeking a Human Resources Assistant. The ideal candidate will be positive, outgoing, enjoy interpersonal interaction in a fast-paced environment, highly intuitive with the ability to think abstractly to arrive at concrete solutions, and will possess self-confidence, imagination, and individual initiative. This position can be fulfilled as a full-time, part-time, or internship position.

Required responsibilities and skills:

  • Understand the type of candidate, overall criteria, and experience we are looking for to fill various positions throughout the company.
  • Maintain various job boards and advertising outlets for open positions.
  • Serve as a liaison between the company president and other employees, communicating employee needs, company concerns, and areas of needed improvement.
  • Evaluate company growth and the necessity of hiring new employees; assist in the process of recruiting, hiring and evaluating candidate
  • Plan wellness outings for the company by conducting research and adhering to a pre-set budget
  • Attend career fairs to meet with and recruit potential employees
  • Complete various special projects within human resources as the need arises

Education and experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree required with coursework in HR, psychology, or business preferred
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Background in education market is a plus
  • 1-2 year of human resources experience is a plus

Marketing Graphic Designer

We are currently seeking a Marketing Graphic Designer. The ideal candidate will be positive, outgoing, enjoy interpersonal interaction, and be highly organized. Candidates must be highly intuitive, efficient problem solvers, and detail-oriented, with the ability to think creatively to arrive at concrete solutions. Candidates must also possess self-confidence, imagination, and individual initiative. This role can be fulfilled as a full-time, part-time, or internship position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform layout, formatting, and typesetting of books using Microsoft Word and Adobe InDesign
  • Assist Publishing department in creation/editing of technical math and science diagrams and icon sets in Adobe Illustrator.
  • Create visually appealing book covers.
  • Design and implement successful marketing materials such as advertisements, flyers, brochures, and eBlasts.
  • Understand our products, markets, customers, technologies, and competitive advantages.
  • Conduct market research to formulate strategies
  • Coordinate and execute social media marketing according to conference schedules and company events.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree with coursework in graphic design, layout, or marketing required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite is required
  • Have basic knowledge of the education market and professional printing
  • High standardized test scores and high GPA preferred       
  • Have basic knowledge of professional printing, with knowledge in In-Design

Production / Graphics Assistant

We are currently seeking a full-time production and graphics assistant to join our Publishing Department. The position requires general graphic design skills, incredible attention to detail, and the ability to complete routine tasks with accuracy.


Responsibilities:

  • Create illustrations as requested
  • Design book covers
  • Review document layout for accuracy and consistency in adhering to production checklist: formatting, pagination, page references, image quality
  • Assist Publishing Director in overseeing production workflow
  • Prep files for printing - troubleshooting technical issues as needed
  • Liaise with printing vendors to monitor cost, schedule, shipping logistics, proof approvals, and quality of printed materials
  • Liaise with remote graphic designers


Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Proven success at meeting tight deadlines
  • Proven ability to multi-task effectively
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Impeccable organizational skills
  • Familiarity with Adobe Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, InCopy, Photoshop, Acrobat) is a plus
  • Prior educational publishing experience is a plus

  • Regularly update a growing and comprehensive database of schools and customers.
  • Arrange meetings between sales representatives and customers (both current and new).
  • Assist department heads as needed with administrative tasks such as confirming participant attendance and information, and recording results.
  • Maintain clear and detailed activity records in the company database and create reports for management on a regular basis using various tools such as Excel spreadsheets.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Customer service or sales experience is preferred
