Part-Time Accounting Assistant

We are currently seeking an Accounting Assistant to work directly with the Accounting Manager. In this role you will gain an understanding of business accounting practices, learn valuable department and project management skills, and assume greater responsibilities over time. The ideal candidate will be positive, outgoing, highly intuitive with the ability to think abstractly to arrive at concrete solutions, enjoy interpersonal interaction in a fast-paced environment and will possess self-confidence, imagination, and individual initiative. This entry-level role can be fulfilled as a full time, part time, or internship position.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Reconcile accounts payable, accounts receivable, and other records.
  • Prepare invoices and orders for customers.
  • Maintain company database and create reports for management.
  • Complete any special projects that arise

 

Education and Experience:

  • Must have completed of be pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Functional knowledge of MS Office applications (Word and Excel), QuickBooks, and other accounting applications is preferred.
  • Accounting experience is a plus, but not required.
  • High GPA and high standardized test scores are highly preferred.

Part-Time Data Entry Assistant

We are currently seeking a Data Entry Assistant. The ideal candidate is a quick learner who is at ease with technology and can maintain a strong attention to detail. This position entails a minimum 20 hours per week.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Precise and highly reliable data entry
  • Retain focus and attention to detail during repetitive tasks
  • Help convert printed materials to electronic format
  • Add to and reshape database of educational institutions nationwide
  • Touch typing >30 WPM preferred
  • Experience with basic functions of Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, etc) is required
  • Experience with databases (Access, Filemaker, SQL, etc) is a plus

Part-Time File Prep Assistant

We are seeking a part-time file prep assistant. The position requires general editing skills, attention to detail, and the ability to accurately complete routine tasks.


Required Responsibilities:

  • Check document layout for accuracy in adhering to style guidelines: headings, fonts, line spacing, column size, indentations, page numbering, question answer choices
  • Maintain consistency of book design


Education and Experience:

  • This position requires two years of college education, preferably in English or Writing
  • Prior publishing experience is a plus
  • Background in educational publishing market is a plus
  • High standardized test scores and high GPA preferred

Part-Time Proofreader

We are currently seeking part-time proofreaders for our test prep materials. The position requires strong knowledge of grammar and style, excellent test-taking skills, analytical reasoning, and comprehension of most or all junior-level math concepts (for math proofreaders only). This position requires meeting deadlines and efficient time management. Based on the performance in this position, potential internship opportunities in various fields are available to students during college.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Review documents (texts and workbooks, both print and online) in verbal, math, or science areas and correct content errors, mechanical errors, and typographical errors.
  • Review documents for consistent and appropriate language.


Education and Experience:

  • This position is suitable for college students or juniors/seniors in high school
  • High standardized test scores and high GPA preferred

Part-Time Technology Support Associate

We are currently seeking a Technology Support Associate. This position requires practical knowledge of programming and high familiarity with computers.  The ideal candidate will be positive and enjoy interpersonal interaction; highly intuitive with the ability to think abstractly and arrive at concrete solutions; and possess self-confidence, imagination, and individual initiative. This role can also require additional projection management and content development skills.

Required Responsibilities:

  • Provide support and solutions for all company IT needs including servers, network, hardware, software and end user support
  • Support educational software for both Windows client and web applications
  • Collaborate with external developers to develop, realize, and test products quickly
  • Maintain clear and detailed documentation of activities and report to management on a regular basis through daily meetings, project management software, and e-mail

Education and Experience:

  • Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and XML
  • Working knowledge of Windows Server administration
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 (Cloud based Exchange/SharePoint) administration
  • Working knowledge of computer programming
  • Flexibility in administering Windows and OSX workstations
  • Moodle or other educational platforms experience is a plus
  • Visual Studio knowledge is a plus
  • Experienced in FileMaker database administration and development is a plus
  • This position prefers candidates who are pursuing a degree in Science, Mathematics, Computer Science or related area
  • 1-3 years of IT experience and/or software development is a plus
  • High standardized test scores and high GPA preferred
