In 2013-2014, United ISD secured Cambridge Educational Services for our 8th grade college readiness course.
During that year, the implementation of their curriculum took place after several professional development sessions that started before the beginning of the school year. There were three 3 hour sessions to train teachers on the implementation of their curriculum. To ensure their curriculum was working, all 8th graders were administered a released Explore pre and post test. The increase was significant (as per ACT guidelines) since our 8th graders had not been exposed to any type of college readiness test aside from the state assessments.
